This event celebrates the release of Issue 8 of the artist run journal, VECTOR. Designed as a platform for complete creative freedom, the content of the journal is unconstrained, and driven solely by the contributors’ interests. For this issue guest editor, Ellie Krakow, invited New York City based artists whose work overlaps with three themes central to her own studio practice: the body as container for memory; the mirror as a site for transformation; and language as a tool for reframing.

Journals will be distributed free of charge at the launch, and there will be performances by contributing artists Nobutaka Aozaki, Jesus Benavente, Caitlin Berrigan, Amy Koshbin, Julianne Swartz, Leslie Thornton, and collaborators Melanie Crean / Shaun Leonardo / Sable Elyse Smith.

Journal Contributors Include: David Altmejd, Miya Ando, Nobutaka Aozaki, Daniel Bejar, Caitlin Berrigan, Jesus Benavente, Melanie Crean, Esteban del Valle, Nicole Eisenman, Edwin Gonzalez Ojeda, Cindy Ji Hye Kim, Yashua Klos, Amy Koshbin, Shawn Leonardo, Jen Lui, Esperanza Mayobre, Glendalys Medina, Marilyn Minter, Mores McWreath, Jenny Morgan, Tschabalala Self, Julianne Swartz, Hayal Pozanti, Leslie Thornton, Jonathan VanDyke, Anthony Varalli, with an introduction by Mirene Arsanios.
